Tips for Making Valentine’s Day Cupcakes
I like the strawberry cake mix for Valentine’s Day because it’s pink. But you can use any cake mix that you have at home.
Collect all the necessary ingredients such as eggs, water, and oil. You will also need a big bowl and a whisk. In addition, you will need a cupcake mold and liners.
Start by turning the oven on, so it reaches 350 degrees by the time you finished mixing all the ingredients.
Once you have the ingredients and tools ready, prop your preschooler on a chair so that he or she can comfortably keep the whisk in the bowl.
The more tasks you allow your preschooler to do, the more engaged and happy he or she will be.
Preschoolers love to help mom in the kitchen.
Let your preschooler help out in the kitchen so he will develop his motor skills, vocabulary, and understanding of how food is prepared.
While you open packages and add ingredients, tell your preschooler exactly what you are doing. This will help to develop his vocabulary.
I let him open the box and cut the top of the cake mix package and pour the contents in the bowl. Then I add the eggs, water, and oil.
My 4 year old loves to stir and see how everything mixes together.
After your little one stirred for a couple of minutes, make sure that everything has been mixed together.
Then, pour the batter into the cupcake mold.
You will have some batter left.
Pour the rest of the batter into a heart mold. Another option is to make a second batch of cupcakes.
Once in the oven, it will take around 25 minutes for the cupcakes to bake.
In the meantime, collect items you will use for decoration. Make sure you have some red, pink, and white frosting.
You can start by letting your preschooler practice designs on paper with markers or with frosting if you have enough for the cupcakes.
Let your preschooler imagination go wild with red, pink, and white.
Make sure you have enough frosting and sprinkles.
You may also show your preschoolers how to do it and they will try their best to copy your design.
These Valentine’s Day activities for preschoolers are great to decorate around the house and try some red, white, and pink goodies.
